How do I remove MAXL ONE?

MAXL ONE is a sacrificial coating and is not permanent, so it will eventually wear off. MAXL ONE is removable but it is chemical resistant, so soap will not remove it.

To remove MAXL ONE streaks, smears, haze, residue, etc. during the first 24 hours: Streaks, haze, smears, spots, films, residues, etc. are from too much product being on the surface and not being wiped off before it dries. If you rub your finger on it and it smears, then you can use damp soft microfiber towels to buff and wipe the excess product off. This removes the excess product and results in a nice finish. This will not entirely remove MAXL ONE, but it will eliminate any excess product from overapplication.

To remove MAXL ONE during the first 48 hours: You can try to remove it with a citrus based cleaner. The key ingredient to look for is a high concentration (90+%) of D-Limonene because it can break bonds. Work out of direct sunlight on a cool surface. Use clean microfiber towels. Test on a small area first. On difficult areas, you may need to let it soak for 20–60 seconds or so. Wash the car afterwards. Do not leave the citrus cleaner on any surface for long. If MAXL ONE has cured too long and this doesn't remove it, then it will have to be buffed off using an abrasive (see below).

To remove fully cured MAXL ONE from paint: MAXL ONE can be removed by using a fine polish along with a DA polisher and a polishing pad, or use the fine polish with a YellowCell Hypersoft Mini sponge. It doesn't take much. Use a few dime-size drops on the polishing pad or Mini to buff it off. Work in 12" × 12" or 24" × 24" sections at a time to keep it simple. Check the surface of your polishing pad or Mini often to make sure there is nothing hard on it that could potentially scratch. Clean the material off of your pad or Mini often using compressed air and/or a pad brush. Use a microfiber towel to wipe the polish residue off of the surface and inspect for the desired result. This will also increase the shine of the finish as well as remove or minimize fine swirls and scratches. A more aggressive approach would be a multi-stage cut and buff using cutting pads followed by finishing pads. An even more aggressive approach would be to wet sand.

To remove fully cured MAXL ONE from glass: The above methods will work on glass as well. Slightly more aggressive methods can be used on glass than on paint or other surfaces. Using a magic eraser can remove MAXL ONE from glass — it will take some effort. A glass polish will also work. A more aggressive option is to use 0000 steel wool to abrade it off of glass only — do NOT use 0000 steel wool on paint or other surfaces.
