Does MAXEasy work on boats with gelcoat, fiberglass, or aluminum?Updated 2 months ago

Effectiveness on Fiberglass and Gelcoat Boats

Yes, MAXEasy works great on fiberglass, gelcoat, and aluminum boats, as well as on other marine vessels such as jet skis and yachts. Even if the surface has been waxed, MAXEasy will still be effective. However, it will not bond as well as it would on a surface without wax. Over time, the wax will wear off, and with continuous application of MAXEasy, it will become the dominant protective layer, outlasting the wax.

Longevity and Reapplication

One treatment of MAXEasy can last anywhere from a couple of months to a year on boats, depending on the conditions it faces. Generally, MAXEasy will withstand numerous outings and washings, maintaining its protective and hydrophobic properties. However, some parts of the boat may wear faster due to the abrasive forces of saltwater, algae, and other marine contaminants. For continuous protection, hydrophobicity, and shine, regular application is recommended.

Usage on Various Marine Surfaces

MAXEasy is highly versatile and can be used on gelcoat, fiberglass, metals such as aluminum, canvas, vinyl, and most other types of finishes. It performs exceptionally well in saltwater environments and can be applied to practically every part of the boat.

Additional Tips

  • Oxidation: MAXEasy will still bond on oxidized surfaces, but it won't eliminate oxidation. For best results, polish off oxidation before applying MAXEasy to ensure a strong bond and prevent further oxidation.
  • Using MAXRemove: For metal oxidation or tough contaminants, use MAXRemove. It cleans effectively without the negative side effects of traditional acids and is safe for various surfaces. MAXRemove will brighten metal and replace acid products.

Marine Applications

In addition to MAXEasy, consider using MAXRemove, which is popular in the marine market. It uses a new technology called AcidlessAcid that is safe to use on clothes, skin, and various surfaces, including fabric and metal. MAXRemove can eliminate brake dust, water spots, rust, iron contaminants, and even brackish water stains. Car detailers use it to replace multiple cleaning products, making it an excellent choice for maintaining your marine vessel.
